Vanda orchids thrive in bright, indirect light; they prefer filtered sunlight near east or south-facing windows or under dappled shade outdoors. Avoid direct midday sun as it can scorch the leaves.

For water, Vandas need frequent hydration due to their exposed roots. In warm weather, water daily or mist thoroughly, ensuring the roots turn green when hydrated. Reduce watering in cooler months but avoid letting roots stay dry for too long.

Vandas typically grow without traditional potting media, favoring open baskets or hanging setups that allow air circulation. If grown in media, use coarse materials like bark chips, charcoal, or coconut husks to ensure proper drainage and aeration, preventing root rot.
