Ordering

How do I place an order on Soiled?+

Simply browse our collection, add the plants you love to your cart, and check out using any of our supported payment methods. You'll receive an order confirmation email as soon as your order is placed.

If you're looking for something specific that isn't listed, feel free to reach out to us on WhatsApp — we're often able to source plants on request.

Can I order multiple plants in one go?+

Absolutely — and we encourage it! Adding multiple plants to a single order means fewer shipments, which is better for your plants and better for the environment.

Ordering in bulk? Drop us a message on WhatsApp before placing your order — we may be able to offer a better deal for large carts.
Can I request a specific plant not listed on the website?+

Yes! We have an extensive network of growers and collectors across India and internationally. If there's something you're hunting for, send us a message on WhatsApp with the plant name and we'll do our best to source it.

We can't promise everything, but we've managed to track down some truly hard-to-find specimens — it's one of our favourite things to do.

Can I cancel or modify my order after placing it?+

If you need to cancel or change your order, please contact us as soon as possible — ideally within a few hours. Once an order has been packed and dispatched, we're unable to make changes.

Shipping & Delivery

Do you ship all over India?+

Yes — we ship pan-India. Whether you're in Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Guwahati, or a smaller town, we'll do our best to get your plants to you safely.

Delivery timelines and availability may vary by pincode. If you're in a remote location, feel free to check with us before ordering.

How long does delivery take?+

Most orders are dispatched within 1–3 business days and delivery typically takes 3–7 business days depending on your location. Metro cities usually receive orders faster; remote pincodes may take a couple of days longer.

We'll send you a tracking number as soon as your order ships so you can follow your plants on their journey.
How are the plants packaged? Will they survive the journey?+

We take packaging very seriously — it's one of the things we obsess over. Plants are carefully wrapped, supported, and cushioned to minimise movement and stress during transit. Roots are kept moist where needed and delicate stems are protected.

We've shipped thousands of plants across India, including fragile rare specimens, and the vast majority arrive in excellent condition. If something does go wrong, we've got you covered.

Do you offer free shipping?+

Yes — we offer free shipping on eligible orders. Please check the current free shipping threshold on our website, as this may change during promotions and sales.

I haven't received my order yet — what should I do?+

First, check the tracking link in your dispatch confirmation email for the latest update from the courier.

If tracking shows it's been delivered but you haven't received it, or if tracking hasn't updated in several days, please contact us on WhatsApp with your order number and we'll investigate immediately.

Please do not wait more than 7 days past the estimated delivery date before reaching out — the sooner we know, the faster we can help.
Do you ship internationally?+

Currently we ship within India only. International shipping for live plants is heavily regulated — it's something we're exploring for the future, but not available yet.

Plants & Quality

Are the plants I receive true to the photos and descriptions?+

Yes — authenticity is something we take extremely seriously. We only carry plants that are correctly identified and work closely with our network of specialist growers to ensure accuracy.

Please note that plants are living things — the exact specimen you receive may vary slightly in size, leaf count, or colour from the photo depending on the season and growth stage. We always send healthy, well-rooted plants.

Will my plant arrive with leaves? What if it arrives bare-rooted?+

Most plants are dispatched in pots with their foliage intact. However, some plants — particularly rare aroids, rhizomes, or specimens sourced from other states — may be sent bare-rooted to reduce weight and improve survival rates during transit.

If a plant will be sent bare-rooted, this will always be mentioned in the product listing.

New to potting bare-rooted plants? Drop us a message and we'll walk you through exactly what to do when your plant arrives.
My plant arrived looking a bit stressed or droopy — is that normal?+

Yes — some degree of transit stress is completely normal, especially for sensitive plants after long journeys. A little drooping or slight yellowing of a leaf or two is nothing to worry about.

Give your plant a few days to acclimatise. Place it in bright indirect light, water gently, and avoid fertilising for the first 2–3 weeks. Most plants bounce back beautifully within a week.

If there is significant damage — broken stems, root rot, or signs of severe pest infestation — photograph it immediately and contact us within 48 hours of delivery.
Where do you source your plants from?+

We source from a carefully curated network of specialist growers, plant collectors, and nurseries across India — from the lush rainforests of Assam to the nursery hubs of Kerala and Pune. For certain rare varieties, we also work with international collectors.

Every supplier is vetted for plant health, species accuracy, and ethical sourcing practices.

Are your plants treated for pests before shipping?+

Yes. Before dispatch, plants are inspected and treated as needed to ensure they are free from common pests. We take biosecurity seriously — the last thing we want to do is introduce pests into your collection.

As a precaution, quarantine any new plant for 1–2 weeks before placing it near your existing collection. This is good practice for any plant, from any source.

Plant Care

What soil mix should I use for my new plant?+

It depends on the plant, but a general well-draining aroid mix works for most of our popular plants (Philodendrons, Monsteras, Pothos, Anthuriums). A good starting mix is cocopeat + perlite + compost in roughly equal parts.

For succulents and cacti, use a gritty fast-draining mix. For orchids, use bark-based media rather than soil.

Each product listing includes specific care guidance including recommended soil type. Always check the listing for your plant before repotting.
How much light does my plant need?+

Most of our tropical houseplants thrive in bright, indirect light — near a well-lit window where they receive filtered sun, but not harsh afternoon direct sunlight which can scorch leaves.

In Indian homes, north or east-facing windows work well for most aroids and tropicals. South and west-facing windows can be too intense in summer without a sheer curtain. Succulents and cacti love as much direct sun as possible.

How often should I water my plant?+

The golden rule: water when the top 2–3 cm of soil feels dry, not on a fixed schedule. Frequency depends on pot size, soil type, climate, and the season.

In India's summer months, plants may need watering every 2–3 days. In cooler months, once a week may be plenty. The most common mistake new plant parents make is overwatering — when in doubt, wait another day.

Overwatering is the number one cause of plant death. Always check the soil before watering, not the calendar.
I'm a beginner — which plants are best for me?+

Welcome to the obsession! For beginners, we recommend plants that are forgiving of irregular watering and adapt well to Indian indoor conditions. Top picks: Pothos (nearly indestructible), ZZ Plant (thrives on neglect), Aglaonema (beautiful and tough), and Philodendron Heartleaf (fast-growing and rewarding).

Do you provide care guidance for the plants I buy?+

Yes — every product listing includes care information for that specific plant. We also have a growing library of care guides on our Plant Care blog.

And of course, we're always happy to help personally. If you have questions about a plant you've bought from us, just message us on WhatsApp and we'll give you tailored advice.

Returns & Refunds

What if my plant arrives damaged?+

If your plant arrives with significant damage — broken stems, root rot, or severe wilting that doesn't recover — please photograph the plant and packaging and contact us within 48 hours of delivery.

We review each case individually and will either send a replacement or issue a refund depending on availability and the nature of the damage. We want you to be happy with what you receive — always.

Please keep the original packaging until you're satisfied the plant has arrived in good condition. It helps us assess transit damage quickly.
Can I return a plant if I change my mind?+

Unfortunately, we're unable to accept returns due to a change of mind. Plants are perishable living things — once dispatched, returning them would cause unnecessary stress and risk to the plant.

If you're unsure about a plant before buying, please reach out first — we're happy to help you decide if it's the right fit for your space.

My plant was healthy on arrival but died a few weeks later — what can I do?+

We're sorry to hear that. While we stand fully behind the health of plants at the time of dispatch, we're unable to offer refunds for plants that decline after they've been in your care — there are too many variables we can't control.

That said, if you think there was a pre-existing issue that wasn't apparent on arrival, please reach out — we'll always try to help troubleshoot and find a fair solution.

If your plant is struggling, message us before giving up on it. We've helped many customers nurse plants back from the brink.
How long do refunds take to process?+

Once a refund is approved, it is typically processed within 5–7 business days. The time it takes to appear in your account depends on your bank or payment provider, but usually shows up within 3–5 working days after processing.

💳

Account & Payments

What payment methods do you accept?+

We accept all major payment methods including UPI (GPay, PhonePe, Paytm), credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, RuPay), net banking, and EMI options through our payment gateway.

All transactions are secured and processed through Shopify Payments — your payment details are never stored on our servers.

Do I need an account to place an order?+

No — you can check out as a guest without creating an account. However, creating an account lets you track your orders, view your order history, and save your address for faster checkout in the future.

Is it safe to save my payment details on your site?+

Yes. Soiled is powered by Shopify, one of the most secure e-commerce platforms in the world. All payment processing is PCI DSS compliant. We never see or store your card details.

I didn't receive an order confirmation email — what should I do?+

First, check your spam or promotions folder — confirmation emails sometimes land there. If it's not there either, reach out to us with your name, email address, and the approximate time of your order and we'll look into it right away.
