White Aparajita Flower Seeds (Clitoria Ternatea)
The White Aparajita (Butterfly Pea) is a serene and elegant variation of the sacred Shankupushpam vine. Prized for its pristine, paper-white flowers, this variety brings a sense of calm and purity to the garden. Like its blue and pink cousins, the White Aparajita is a vigorous perennial climber that is deeply rooted in Indian tradition and Ayurvedic practice.
The pure white blooms stand out beautifully against the dense, emerald-green foliage, making it a perfect choice for moon gardens or for creating a soft, vertical screen on balconies and fences. It is remarkably easy to grow from seed and flourishes in the tropical warmth of India.
Light
▾Thrives in full sun. To ensure a continuous flush of white flowers, provide at least 6 hours of direct sunlight. It can tolerate partial shade, but growth may be slower and flowering less intense.
Watering
▾Keep the soil moist but avoid waterlogging. During the germination and seedling stages, check daily to ensure the soil doesn't dry out completely. Once mature, it can handle brief periods of drought but prefers regular hydration.
Soil & Sowing
▾Sow seeds 0.5 to 1 inch deep in a well-draining, organic-rich potting mix. Pre-soaking seeds overnight in water will significantly speed up germination. If planting in the ground, ensure the site has good drainage.
Feeding & Fertilization
▾Being a legume, it fixes its own nitrogen. Avoid high-nitrogen fertilizers which will produce leaves but no flowers. Instead, use an organic liquid seaweed extract or compost tea once a month to boost bloom production.
Pruning & Training
▾This is a twining vine that needs a support system like a trellis, mesh, or railing. Pinch the growing tips once the plant reaches a foot in height to encourage bushier growth and more flowering sites.
Seedlings Wilting
▾Usually due to extreme heat or underwatering. Keep young seedlings in a spot with bright light but protected from harsh 12 PM - 3 PM sun until they are established.
No Flowers Appearing
▾Often caused by too much nitrogen in the soil or insufficient sunlight. Reduce fertilization and ensure the plant is getting enough direct sun.
