The Hoya Carnosa 'Krimson Green' (the classic Green Wax Plant) is a timeless, ultra-resilient indoor favorite celebrated for its lush succulent foliage and sweet-smelling porcelain blossoms. Perfectly adapted for effortless indoor living, this versatile vining cultivar brings enduring tropical elegance and rich, glossy structure to bright home layouts.
Each thick, leathery leaf unfolds in a deep, mirror-glossy emerald green that efficiently stores moisture like a succulent. As a dynamic trailer or climber, it gracefully weaves across floating shelves, hanging baskets, or trellises, eventually rewarding patient plant parents with clusters of star-shaped wax flowers featuring fuzzy petals and vibrant pink-and-red centers.
Fragrant Porcelain Bloom Clusters
The ultimate reward of growing Hoya carnosa is its exquisite floral display. Under bright lighting, it produces umbrella-like clusters of fuzzy, porcelain-like wax flowers that release a sweet, chocolate-vanilla fragrance during evening hours.
Versatile Vining & Trailing Habit
Whether cascading gracefully from an elevated planter or trained vertically along a bamboo hoop or trellis, this durable hoya creates a dense, rich green vine canopy that stays vibrant for years with minimal maintenance.
100% Pet-Friendly & Safe
Wonderful news for pet parents! The entire Hoya genus is completely non-toxic to dogs and cats according to ASPCA standards, making this succulent wax vine a completely worry-free addition to any room.
Light & Blooming
▾
Requires consistent, bright indirect light to gentle direct morning sunlight. Abundant ambient lighting is essential to encourage tight leaf node spacing and stimulate frequent bloom cycles. Protect it from harsh, scorching afternoon direct solar rays.
Watering
▾
Treat this plant like a semi-succulent. Allow the potting soil to dry out almost completely (top 75%) between thorough soakings. Its thick leaves hold water efficiently, making it highly drought-tolerant and sensitive to overwatering or stagnant soil conditions.
Soil & Care
▾
Adapts easily to standard household humidity levels (40% to 60%). It demands a light, ultra-chunky, fast-draining potting substrate—combine rich peat or coco coir heavily amended with orchid bark, coarse perlite, and horticultural charcoal to keep the roots aerated.
