The Alocasia Nebula (often prized in its 'Imperialis' form) is an otherworldly, breathtaking jewel Alocasia that looks as if it were plucked straight from deep space. Endemic to the specialized limestone cliffs of Sarawak, Borneo, this rare collector piece is legendary for its incredibly thick, cardboard-like leaves that carry a sensational, matte gray-silver patina.

The visual drama of the Nebula is unforgettable. Its heart-shaped leaves sport a velvety, eerie silver-slate surface that is heavily broken up by deeply sunken, dark emerald to near-black veins. Flip the leaf over, and you are met with a rich, glowing wine-red underside held up by intensely mottled, patterned stems.

Avoid deep shade, which dulls the silver, and protect it strictly from direct afternoon solar rays to prevent scorching.

Watering

Allow the top 60% to 75% of the soil mixture to dry out completely before watering thoroughly. Jewel Alocasias store plenty of moisture in their thick, leathery leaves and are exceptionally sensitive to root suffocation. Always ensure water drains cleanly away; never let it sit in a soggy saucer.

Thrives beautifully in elevated humidity environments (60% or higher) to keep the thick shield leaves looking immaculate. It demands an open, ultra-chunky, loose aroid mix combining rich peat amended heavily with orchid bark, coarse perlite, and horticultural charcoal for maximum root aeration.
